The entry forms have been delivered, thanks to all the volunteers, Nadia, Paul and Kate, Pauline, Steve, Lynne, and Tilly and Boo the Springers who helped too.  Volunteers slaving away - thank you all very much.  Medals have arrived and tickets are now on sale for the Balloon Launch in June.

The preparations for this year's Trawden Garden Festival are in full flow, stall holders have signed up for the Craft Fair in the community centre. Maureen Askew Community Centre Co-ordinator is continuing to do a sterling job and can be contacted, details can be found on the members area.  A list of stall holders will be found on this website in the near future.

The 'Owl Man' has confirmed his attendance on both days, along with his feathered friends.

March 2012

Leaflets have been printed (see below), signs manufactured, entry forms made, the President's Poem (for the programme) written and much, much more.

We were sorry to lose Cath and Gary from the Trawden Garden Festival Committee and wish them well. Anyone wishing to help out with any element of the festival will be made more than welcome.

July 2011

The festival this year attracted visitors from all over the North West of England, Yorkshire and beyond.  The many beautiful gardens in Trawden and Winewall that were on display demonstrated the talent and dedication of the gardeners.  The scarecrows, hanging baskets, creative containers and window displays showed the artistic talent and originality of the designers.  Well done to all who made the villages such a pleasure to roam around.

The Garden Festival Official Launch took place at LBS (many thanks to them for hosting the event). This year our Chair Gillian Walsh taught a novice hanging basket maker how to make a hanging basket, answering questions as the lesson progressed.  Thanks must also go to the people who attended the event.

The Trawden Garden Festival and Scarecrow Trail planning is well underway with the Entry Forms and leaflets about to be delivered by some of our volunteer helpers.

Launch Event
This year the Garden Festival and Scarecrow Trail 'Launch' will take place at LBS on the 11th May at 7.30pm. There will be a hanging basket demonstration, with our very own Chairperson Gillian Walsh demonstrating how to make a fantastic display.  She will also be instructing a complete novice (TGF Secretary Graeme Hadwin) on how to create a basket from scratch.

This year we have enlisted  a number of villagers from both Winewall and Trawden who have agreed to assist in the publicity of events during and before the festival weekend.  Our thanks goes out to these generous people without whom our festival weekend could not function.

Community Centre
The Community Centre, on the weekend of the festival, will this year have a focus on Crafts with a range of stalls already agreeing to take part.  A list of stallholders will available in the Supporters' Links and Information section soon.
